Frequently asked
What couples ask
Everything you might be wondering, from how I shoot to how we get started. If there's anything else on your mind, just ask.
The experience
What's your photography style?
Documentary at heart, the in-between moments, the quiet glances, the laughter you didn't know was happening. I edit in a light, airy, natural style that lets the day speak for itself.
You'll find a handful of posed portraits in there too, the ones you'll want for the album, but the real story sits between them. I won't hand you a shot list to work through; I'd rather document the day as it actually unfolds.
We're awkward in front of the camera, help!
Believe me, 95% of the couples I photograph tell me exactly this, and they're always thrilled when they see the results, because they look totally relaxed, happy and natural.
I keep my posing gentle and my style laid back. I'll never force you into anything uncomfortable. So many of the photos here were taken when couples weren't even aware, the spontaneous laughter, the secret smiles, the hugs, leaving you free to just enjoy your day.
What about group and family shots?
Always happy to. I'd suggest keeping groups to a maximum of around ten, it leaves more time for me to capture moments as they unfold naturally, and keeps everyone happy and out of a long queue.
Do our guests have to put their cameras away?
Not at all. I'm more than happy for your guests to take their own photographs, as long as no one's bashing me out of the way. Uncle Barry, be warned: I'm only little, but I can hold my own.
Booking & logistics
How do we book?
Once you've decided I'm the right fit, drop me a message via the contact form. I'll send across a simple booking agreement and an invoice for the deposit, 25% to secure your date. Once that's paid and the agreement signed, your date is officially mine.
The remaining balance is due two months before your wedding day.
Can you hold our date?
I work on a first-come, first-served basis, so I can't hold dates without a deposit. If you're keen, the best way to lock it in is to message me and get the booking process started. I'm always happy to answer any questions before you commit.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book between 9 and 18 months ahead, though peak Saturdays in summer often go earlier than that. If your date is within a few months, do still get in touch, I sometimes have last-minute availability.
Are you insured?
I certainly am. Both myself and my equipment are fully insured, and I always bring backup gear, just in case anything should ever fail.
After the day
Do you travel, and can you come abroad?
Travel within mainland UK is included in both packages. I'm based in Staffordshire and the West Midlands, but I'll happily go wherever your day takes me.
And I love, love, love a destination wedding, Italy, France, Bali, anywhere. I've photographed weddings and elopements all over Europe and beyond. Just get in touch and I'll put together international pricing for you.
When will we receive our photos?
You'll get a first-look preview within 48 hours of your wedding, just enough to tide you over. Your full, hand-edited private gallery follows within six weeks.
I know how excited couples are to relive the day, so I'm always keen to get them to you as soon as I can.
What happens after we book?
Once your date is locked in, I'm here throughout your planning whenever you need me, venue questions, timeline advice, anything at all. About six weeks before the day, we'll catch up properly to nail down the schedule.
