Alice & Rikhi at Pendrell Hall, Staffordshire
Hi, I'm Jordan Fox. Pendrell Hall, in Codsall Wood, Staffordshire, is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. It's a regular fixture in my wedding photography in Staffordshire, and the grand Victorian interior, exclusive-use grounds and quiet woodland walks are the kind of features photographers fall for the first time they shoot here.
Introducing Alice & Rikhi, a couple I was lucky to photograph. Their day moved from gypsophila and morning light in the Morning Room to the dancefloor under the Ballroom mirrors, with a casino, a photo booth and a garden tree swing in between.
Stage 01 / The Morning
The Bridal Preps at Pendrell Hall
With exclusive use of the Hall, the morning at Pendrell offers an intimate space for bridal preps. I usually arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony, taking a relaxed stroll around to capture the personal touches the couple have added.
Upstairs, Alice and her bridal party are mid-transformation. No instructions needed, I let the girls enjoy their moment and snap candid, editorial-style photos. Downstairs, the groom and his groomsmen are already suited up, naturals in front of the camera. Outside, kids are making the most of the garden tree swing (and yes, I may have sneaked a turn myself).
The Morning Room sits ready for the ceremony - white satin chairs, the gypsophila aisle, that clean classical vibe Pendrell does so well. Upstairs once more to check on Alice as her dad is called to fetch her, and his smile when he sees her in her dress is the kind of moment that needs no caption. By the time the bridesmaids start their descent, the day is properly underway.
Stage 02 / The Vows
The Ceremony at Pendrell Hall
Pendrell offers three ceremony options; an outdoor space and two indoor rooms. For Alice & Rikhi, it's the Morning Room: two deep bay windows pulling in light off the manicured lawns and parkland beyond. The groom is already waiting as the bridal party makes their entrance in blush satin.
I keep the camera on the doorway as Alice approaches. Rikhi whispers something into her ear. Whatever he said, it seems to help. Smiles, the kind of tears that just appear, and the ones I always end up catching myself. One of the bridesmaids reads, the vows are exchanged, the first kiss lands.
The new Mr & Mrs Bhella walk back down the aisle to thunderous applause. Guests fall in behind them, phones up, ready for the celebratory champagne and the rest of the day.
Stage 03 / Champagne & Gardens
The Drinks Reception at Pendrell Hall
Out onto the private driveway for the confetti shot at the fountain wall, then guests drift to the gardens to find Alice & Rikhi, grab a drink, and explore the rest of the venue. Meanwhile, I steal the couple and the immediate bridal party for portraits.
Stage 04 / Just Them
The Portraits at Pendrell Hall
Portraits at Pendrell take advantage of everything the venue offers; the gardens, the woodland edges, the lawns, the fountain wall on the private driveway. I'm always ready to guide couples through these sessions, and I tailor each one to the couple's wishes: how long, how many photos, what kind.
Alice & Rikhi needed almost no direction. They're naturals in front of the camera, which makes my job easy, and means we got the kind of unhurried, light-filled portraits that come out of a couple genuinely enjoying themselves.

The Wedding Breakfast at Pendrell Hall
The Ballroom at Pendrell does double duty - it's available for ceremonies as well as breakfasts. For Alice & Rikhi, it's the breakfast venue: classic, elegant, with mirrored walls catching the light from every angle. The kind of space that makes the room itself part of the photograph.
The bride and groom make their grand entrance and guests find their seats, buzzing with anticipation for the speeches. This is one of my favourite parts of the day; the funny anecdotes, the heartfelt confessions, the short-and-sweet, the long-and-elaborate. What I'm really watching for is the spontaneous reactions: the laugh you didn't know was coming, the tear from someone in the back row.
Stage 06 / The Dancefloor
The Evening Reception at Pendrell Hall
As guests linger over the end of the wedding breakfast, there's a gentle ease to the pace - a serene interlude before the evening kicks off. Guests are in full selfie mode (one of my favourite photographic moments), and the photo booth keeps people busy before the cake cutting and first dance.
Once the dancefloor opens, the day finally lets loose - that end-of-day energy that's a joy to photograph. Alice & Rikhi's wedding rounded off the way the best ones do: properly enjoyed, properly captured.
From the Couple
“We’re in love all over again. Your photos are stunning.”

Final Thoughts on Pendrell Hall Wedding Photos
The Pendrell Hall wedding venue does the practical work well. Morning Room with its bay windows for the ceremony, gardens for portraits, Ballroom mirrors for the reception. Exclusive use of the whole place means no rush, no clashing parties, no one watching the clock. Each gallery ends up different, but the venue carries its weight every time.
Pendrell sits near the top of my list.
Alice & Rikhi got the full benefit. If you're still building a shortlist, take a look at more Staffordshire wedding venues.
