A London City Micro Wedding
Emma & Stephen at Brunswick House
Emma and Stephen’s London city micro wedding was one of those days that stays with you. Held at Brunswick House, it brought together everything I love about an intimate city celebration: real charm, urban textures, and a small guest list that made the whole day feel personal.
A micro wedding trades scale for intimacy, fewer guests, more meaning, and it makes for a wonderfully creative day to photograph. If you are planning something similar, you can see more of my wedding photography in London, and read on for Emma and Stephen’s day from start to finish.
The Morning
Getting Ready at The Windmill
The day began at The Windmill, where I joined Emma for her bridal preparations. There was excitement in the air from the moment I arrived, her parents and close friends on hand to help, and the natural light through the windows making for some lovely, candid frames. Across the morning, Stephen and his best man were in high spirits as they got ready too, and catching that easy, happy energy is one of my favourite parts of the job.
If you are planning your own morning, I have put together my tips on wedding pictures of getting ready to help you make the most of it.

The Ceremony
Brunswick House Charm
An intimate city ceremony, full of urban character.
Brunswick House was the perfect setting for Emma and Stephen’s ceremony. The historic building’s textures and urban character made a striking backdrop for their vows. Things began at 3:30, a celebrant officiating the intimate gathering, guests welcomed by the soft sound of a pianist.
I love working with natural light, and Brunswick House’s low light was a real creative challenge. I leaned on my flash to make sure every moment landed, from the vows to the guests’ reactions, which is part of the fun of photographing a venue like this.

The Reception
Prosecco & Magic
After the ceremony the reception got going with prosecco, canapés and a bit of magic, quite literally. A close-up magician worked the room, and the guests’ reactions gave me no end of candid frames to catch. I always love when couples bring in something a little different like this; it keeps everyone engaged and makes for some of the most natural photos of the day.

Just the Two of Them
Portraits in the City
One of the quiet luxuries of a micro wedding is time. With a smaller guest list, Emma and Stephen could slip away for a little while, and we made the most of Brunswick House and the streets around it. The urban textures, the stairwell, a quick wander out into the city, it all made for relaxed, characterful portraits that felt completely them.

The Evening
Dinner, Cake & Dancing
Down in the Cellars, where the dance floor came alive.
As the evening unfolded, guests were called through to the elegant dining room for dinner, followed by heartfelt toasts in the Smoking Room. Then came the cake, cut with plenty of laughter and served around the tables. The whole evening had that easy, close feeling a smaller wedding does so well.

The night ended down in the Cellars, where the DJ got everyone on their feet. The atmosphere was electric, and I stayed in the thick of it, catching every dance move, laugh and late-night moment, right through to the first dance and beyond.

From the Couple
“Not only is Jordan a fantastic photographer, she was so lovely to have at our wedding and took the stress out of being photographed, which is something I usually avoid!”

Final Thoughts
Why a London City Micro Wedding?
Emma and Stephen’s day is a perfect example of why city micro weddings are so popular. They are intimate, stylish and full of personality. Whether you are drawn to the urban character of a venue like Brunswick House or simply the idea of a smaller, more personal celebration, a micro wedding gives you room to make the day entirely your own.
From the quiet of the morning to the Cellars late at night, theirs was a joy to photograph start to finish, full of warmth, character and the kind of moments a smaller guest list makes space for.
