Mythe Barn Wedding Photos

Wedding Photography at Mythe Barn

I love a barn wedding - lots of natural light, rustic charm and the very best photo opportunities.

Mythe Barn is set between Warwickshire and the Leicestershire countryside and is one of the leading wedding venues for those seeking a magical day.

Let me walk you through a beautiful wedding day for Sophie and Nathan's special day.

Bridal Preps at Mythe Barn

I make it a point to arrive at the stunning venue a good two hours before the ceremony kicks off. This gives me ample time to snap some candid 'getting ready' and detail photos, explore the charming wedding venue, and immerse myself in the bubbling excitement of the day ahead.

Our radiant bride-to-be, Sophie, is ensconced in the Gallery - an absolutely breathtaking space perfect for bridal preparations. She's surrounded by her bridal party and makeup artist, all bustling about to help her look her very best! I managed to capture some striking photos of the wedding dress, Sophie, and her squad, blending a documentary approach with a few posed portraits.

I pop out into the wedding ceremony oak barn to the minstrels' gallery to get the best photos whilst no one is around. Say hi to Nathan whilst the wedding guests begin to trickle in.

Wedding Ceremonies at Mythe Barn

A barn wedding ceremony is uber popular - they're modern providing lots of natural light - ideal for a wedding photographer like me.

Featuring a majestic double-height solid oak frame and impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, this oak barn is spectacular.

The generous windows not only flood the space with warm, natural light but also offer an unrivalled view of the lush fields beyond. The décor is purposefully kept simple, allowing the impressive structure and picturesque setting to take centre stage. The delicate hops hung gracefully from the balcony, serving as a charming reminder of the serene rural surroundings.

Sophie arrives alongside her father for the big moment - I capture some exciting photos of their walk down the aisle.

The ceremony is filled with love and laughter as Sophie and Nathan exchange their heartfelt vows, sealing their marriage with the traditional first kiss.

A Mythe Barn Drinks Reception

This was a June wedding so fortunately, the weather was on our side (we thanked the wedding day weather gods!) so guests were able to venture outside in the courtyard and also the front gardens where lawn games were set up. The bride and groom had hired a wedding magician called Close-Up Chris who was amazing - keeping the guests occupied whilst the group photos were being taken. You'll see from the pictures, the guest's reactions are incredible!

Group Shots at a Mythe Barn wedding

As the guests enjoyed a glass of Pimms and bedazzled by the magician, I orchestrated a few group shots before the wedding breakfast. There are plenty of picturesque spots for wedding photographs at Mythe Barn - lots of greenery and the gardens are really well-kept. Our Bridal party and loved ones were looking glorious and we had some fun setting up the confetti shot.

Romantic Portraits at Mythe Barn

My approach to wedding photography style is certainly relaxed however, I do love a romantic portrait session with the bride and groom on their big day. As a photographer of over ten years, I have a few sneaky tips and tricks to help those who aren't fully comfortable with having their photo taken not that Sophie and Nathan needed any help. Sophie comes from a theatrical background and so was super confident in front of the camera.

We made good use of the wedding venue and got some beautiful just-married photographs for our newlyweds.

The Wedding Breakfast at Mythe Barn

Our guests were seated in the grain store ready to welcome the bride and groom as husband and wife before tucking into their barn wedding day meal. This beautiful venue also has amazing food which I was the beneficiary of. I used this time to go through the photographs I'd taken so far plus a chance to recharge the batteries.

I returned once the meal was completed to capture the speeches - at favourite moment of mine as it's often filled with heart-warming moments, a few tears and lots of laughs. Top tip from a wedding photographer: carry tissues. I'm not crying, you are!

Evening Reception at Foxtail Barns

The Evening Reception at Mythe Barn

Our wedding magician was still here - his set-up was super unique, something I've not seen at a wedding before, called the Close-Up Corner. with a kind of booth for guests to flock over to. It was certainly a lot of fun.

There was also a surprise performance for Sophie as her bridesmaids performed a fantastic dance routine with her father (they'd been rehearsing for weeks!). I love these unique moments at a wedding - they provide not only memorable photographs but also help keep the energy going as weddings are naturally long days.

As the evening guests started to trickle in, it was time for those cherished wedding rituals - cutting the cake and the first dance, all leading up to the live band that was now all set up in the rustic barn. I have a bit of a soft spot for the dance floor, for two reasons. Firstly, I absolutely love to join in the fun with a little dance of my own! Secondly, it's the perfect spot to capture some truly memorable photos of everyone busting out their best moves!

It's always a delight to witness the transformation of guests, from being somewhat reserved during the day, to fully embracing the party spirit in the evening.

Mythe Barn Wedding Final Thoughts

As a wedding photographer, mythe barn really does tick a lot of boxes. The barn itself is just gorgeous, the staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating, and the surrounding countryside offers a stunning backdrop for photos. But most importantly, the couples I've had the pleasure of photographing at Mythe Barn have all radiated with love and happiness on their special day.

I hope you've enjoyed my mini tour of this fantastic wedding venue - if you're getting married at Mythe Barn and have questions or would like an informal chat about your day, chat packages and talk all things weddings, get in touch today.
